Title: Your Identity Is In Christ
📖 Theme Verse: Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
✉️ Message:
In a world obsessed with image, status, and validation, it’s easy to forget who we truly are. We’re often tempted to define ourselves by our jobs, past failures, successes, or even by other people’s opinions. But Paul reminds us in Galatians 2:20 that our true identity is rooted in Christ.
You are not your past. You are not your mistakes. You are not what people say about you. You are who God says you are. When you gave your life to Christ, your old self was crucified. Now, the life you live is empowered by faith in the One who gave everything for you.
Living out your identity in Christ means walking with confidence, not in your own strength, but in the reality that Christ lives in you. You are loved, chosen, redeemed, and set apart for purpose.
🔍 Reflection Questions:
Are you defining yourself by anything other than your identity in Christ?
What lies or labels do you need to surrender to God today?
How can you live more boldly knowing that Christ lives in you?
📚 Supporting Scriptures:
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Colossians 3:3 – “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
Romans 8:1 – “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works…”
🙏 Prayer:
Lord Jesus, Thank You for giving me a new identity through Your death and resurrection. Remind me daily that I am not defined by my failures or successes but by Your grace and love. Help me to walk in the confidence of who I am in You. Let my life reflect the reality that Christ lives in me. I surrender all false identities and choose to live by faith in You alone. In Your name, Amen.
